I read you need to remove the glovebox? How do you do that?

What is the difference between the engine air filter and cabin air filter?

2003 doesn't have one, at least not the ones in the U.S.

Please fill out your profile as to general location and make model and year. It helps us help you!

It's a U.S. Rio. It was purchased in New York.
It doesn't filter the incoming outside air, just as the older cars haven't for years and years. Cabin filters are a fairly new thing. Your RIO being an 03 is hardly new. Ford didn't start putting cabin filters in the Focus SE till 03, prior to that no cabin filter.

I dunno about Canada, but my 2004 US model did. Take off the glove box door and pop it out of the slot on the evaporator. It is a 5 minute job...
