OK, this is misleading but I didn't know how else to get some feedback.

When I let off the brake (V-6 Borrego) it just smoothly but instantly accelerates up to the idle speed (12-15 mph?). When I put the brakes on and I'm below that speed I really have to push on them because the transmission doesn't "disconnect" and it just want to keep pushing on.

I did some brake testing and if I shift into neutral form 30 mph I can stop in just 3/4 of the distance that I would if I leave in drive. Also in the snow, when it is slippery and I am turning a little, it often pushes so hard that it wants to plow the front wheels straight ahead. If at that time I shift into neutral it just follows the turn.

If the tach is accurate, it idles about 700 or so. Is that too high ?

Has anyone else noticed this?

Is it easy to turn the idle down ?

You are idling too high. Idle speed is controlled by the engine computer and is not adjustable. Check for an air leak in the duct from the filter to the throttle body. Got warranty?

Unfortunately I'm just out of warranty. Thanks I will have a look for a leak.

I somehow didn't think everyone else's Borrego drives off by itself.
