i own a 2009 kia spectra, automatic trans, inline 4 . its kinda of ok.

i got a problem with it. you when your at a full stop, the mph needle should go to 0. but with my kia it the needle is at 30mph. strange.

what could i do to fix this? and what causes it?

Your speedometer cluster is probably on its way out. I believe it's a fairly common problem with Spectras. Occasionally I will be going ~70-75MPH on the highway and the speedo will read 10MPH. It's intermittent on my car.

Another possibility is your actual speed sensor. There is a way to test this, but I don't recall how- you'll have to search up on this topic.

If it is your instrument cluster, you can send it out for repair fairly cheap, about $75 from this guy: Speedometer Repair Guy.
