2007 Rondo with approx 110K

Here is the scenario:

Seems to drive fine right after start-up, then say 2-5minutes after driving, there is a noticeable change in performance, the check engine light comes on and speed is limited to around 25mph. Also, RPMs stay under 1K...

After I stop, turn off car, restart...sometimes it goes away...sometimes it self corrects, sometimes I re-seat gas cap and it goes away, sometimes the check engine light stays on, sometimes not.

I am going to run it to shop, but wanted to throw to this to community to see if you all have any similar issues...

Also, please fill out your details (Location, Trim Level, Engine, etc) so the rest of the users can help you better. The users in this forum are from all over the world and it would help a lot to have that info when trying to help you with your problem. Thanks!

It needs a throttle position sensor and an ECM reprogram. There is a TSB. Only the dealer can perform the reprogram. However, some people have replaced the throttle position sensor without the reprogram and haven't had any problems. There are other minor issues that the reprogram addresses, though, which could prevent future problems.

If this is TSB - then it is done with no charge, right? Therefore, just go to the dealer and check if the repair was already done, and if so - was it done correctly.

He has 110k, which is out of warranty. If it was done, then possibly another TPS is bad, or there is another issue(wiring?) causing the problem, both of which are unlikely.

Campaigns and TSB are not warranty related, are they? Regardless of age and mileage they should do it.

Campaign(recalls) are the only things covered out of warranty. TSBs and service actions are only covered within the basic warranty period, 5yrs/60k miles.
