Help Removing Horn Relay...

Just wondering if anyone has some tips on removing the horn relay on a US model Kia Sportage (1997).

I can reach up in there and feel the relay clicking when the horn is activated of course I can't figure out how to actually get to the relay without a near complete dash teardown.

Any ideas?

The shop manual unfortunately does not describe on HOW to remove the relay.

I've never looked up there but I would suspect there is some sort of clip that holds it into place. See if you can get a spot light in there and look carefully. There might be a steel clip across the relay. If there is you should be able to push it to one side and pull the relay.

The are four screws under the steering wheel " The panel under the steering wheel" Take out the dressing clips that hide the screws and remove the 2 screws on top then the 2 on the bottom, remove that panel and bingo there are your relays. Take the relay out and remove the cover and clean the contacts and you should be good to go.......

No need to buy new relays as I have done this more than once and they all still work like new.
