I just bought my wife a 2004 Sorento with a 2.5L diesel and automatic transmission. of course being a preowned vehicle in mongolia i did not get any user manual. There is + and - sign besidethe transmission lever selector. Can anyone tell me what this is for? I suspect it is to do with the torque on demand 4WD system but i am not sure.

Thanks,

Tom

Welcome to the site.
The + and - sign beside the shifter means you have the tiptronic transmission. Kinda like a manual transmission just without a clutch. You can either shift it yourself or if ya dont feel like using it just keep it in drive. I dont have that option on my Sorento but I do have it in my Optima and I use it alot. Its fun to drive that way.
