So . . . . . what's the replacement and why?

Thanks for your help, advice and input since we took delivery of our Sportage. Sorry to see a valuable member leave the ranks. Best of luck.

Nice choice. I too have looked at the Optima (a little more grunt would be nice - we don't have the turbo, yet!) . . . but love the Sportage and will hang on to it for a while yet - got too many projects in mind that haven't even been started yet!
Wife has come to grips with her 3 door SLS Rio and feels the same - no regrets getting rid of the Subaru Impreza.

I was kinda focusing in on the part where he said

"just hope it's as trouble free as the sportage".

Why would he say that if he didn't have some issues with it...

Oh and I can read just fine njerald, thanks for your concern.

I'm with you rogan "just hope it's as trouble free as the Sportage" does not necessary mean he had any problems.

Clearly I must be misreading it then. I mean if I had a car that had zero problems for me, why would I make a comment saying I hope my new car is as trouble free as my previous car (which I had zero problems with). Just sounds a little weird to me.

Regardless, I hope he enjoys his new Optima. A nice car, and If I didn't need the extra trunk space of the Sportage I would have totally gotten the Optima Turbo instead.

Good luck with optima, at least you didn't switch to other brand ;)
I'm keeping my Sportage as family ride, but for personal enjoyment I use R8 Spyder V10 and tuned Access Motor 450 ATV ;)

I saw the new Optima for the first time this week (I've seen their documentary), and it is impressive in person. Spec-wise, it's like a carshaped Sportage, longer and shorter. Can't argue with an Optima.

I love my 2011 Sportage. Best small SUV I've ever owned. Trouble free operation other than having the heater blower changed due to failing bearings.
My next car however will be electric. A Tesla Generation 3 vehicle due in 3 years. The Sportage will be paid off in a couple of years and I'll just move the payments into a kitty account for the Tesla for when the time comes!

Been in the same boat as you're in when we traded my '12 Sorento SX.

I love the car and its 'sportiness' and nothing wrong with it really except some quirks that needs to be fixed in the dealer. Overall happy with it that's why I got so sad when we traded it in for a '15 one.

There's something about first cars that you connected to. More like sentimental value because of all the things you've gone through, all the potholes you've shared, and all the snow and ice you got LOL.

Enough with the drama, i'm so loving my Scarlette right now!

Good for you, you actually waited for a bit for a better car.

I am wondering how practical a fully-electric vehicle would be in a Canadian winter.

My sister is on her second Optima (bought her first one after I got a Rio in 2000 and loved it) She got smacked on the first Optima (not her fault) and bought another Optima. She loves it even more. They definitely get better with age. ;)

Hope you love the car. I myself would buy the Optima if Kia had it available as an AWD as my Sportage is even a bit much for me (I have access to pickups both gas and Diesel, so my hauling / transport needs are met otherwise)
