I'm going to change the trans oil for the first time on my 2002 4cyl Optima, 40k on it. Any tips or things to remember, note, etc from others that have done it themselves? Is the bolt in the obvious middle of the transmission?

Thanks
Kevin

Well I wish it was as easy as that.. but I found out that you have to replace the tranny fuel filter as well.. there's a kit. but I can seem to find the kit for the 04. Wierd..

Not sure if you are using Diaqueen ATF-III. Many felt is safer to follow OEM recommendation since tranny can be rather sensitive to wrong ATF.

But question is Sonata seems to use Dextron ATF-III and not Diaqueen ATF-III. Anyone one can comment?

Yeah, that's what a mechanic told me the other day. So the whole process would take almost an hour to do and it would cost around $160. Geezz.
