I have been noticing a strong gas smell (occasionally) usually right after I start up the car or have been driving little distance............
I have a 2005 Kia Sportage. Any advice? :)

:gunsmilie: I would take it to the shop and see if you have a leak somewhere in the injectors. Check gas cap to make sure it is secure. You shouldn't be getting a gas smell, and a leak can cause an engine fire.

yeah, i know what it is, my sportage V6 is going to my dealer next wednesday to get a software update for the enginemanagement computer. it seems that when the engine is warming up there is too long too much gas in the engine injected (smell). the gas usage will be much higher due to this, also the update handles about the automatic gearbox, the shifting is now a little slow and that should change after the update.
