Hi. My 2005 Kia Rio owner's manual mentions that I need to inspect the fuel-tank air filter, but I am not sure where it is located. Does anyone know where it is located or if there even is one?

http://www.kiatechinfo.com/ shows a filter located right behind where you fill it up on the filler tube top it look's like a rectangular filter with a hose hooked up to it if this help's any. My 02 doesn't have it you must have the newer version rio 05-12. Good luck. Reguard's ronjohn

No, the owner's manual for the 2005 Rio says "Fuel Tank Air Filter." On kiatechinfo, the fuel-tank diagram does not show any fuel-tank air filter on the filler tube.

jhudson Look at your date of manufacture on the drivers side door some 05 models are covered by the newer models i guess that's when they switched to the newer model ask your dealer i looked on kia tech 05-12 service did you it's there. The filter is shown for it in that service info as my 02 doesn't have it maybe your's is the newer model. Good luck just trying to help.

Yeah, thanks for trying to help. It says that it was manufactured in November 2004.

I guess I will just have to remove the left, rear tire and wheel guard to take a look.
