Hi,

2002 Kia Rio 5sp manual here with a new problem - senms like the engine starves for fuel at around 2500+3000 RPM (no tach so I'll not exactly sure). When I hold the throttle at the point where power falls flat, the engine power cycles/surges, if that makes sense.

Any ideas or things to look at would be most appreciated.

Thanks!!

Thanks!!

Hmm, could be fuel filter, MAF, any codes?

Also you can pull a tached cluster from a junkyard or on eBay. just swap the speed meter so you can retain your mileage. Should be plug and play.

Thanks. No codes yesterday, but I have a MIL now that I'll check after work. I have replaced the MAF but maybe it's a good time to do the full filter, not sure when that was last done.

Thanks!

Update for those interested - turned it to be a faulty crankshaft position sensor.

Thanks all!
