I’m new to this board and having my first problems with my wife’s 2011 Sportage. Fuel gage says we still have 100 miles but when I fill up it almost takes 13 gallons. When new it took 12-13 gallons. So I’m thinking it’s the fuel pump and I have no clue where it’s at. Please help LOL

I don't believe a fuel pump issue will create more or less volume / space in the fuel tank.
If I understand your question correctly?
Are you having any driveability issues?
Or, is it just your belief of remaining fuel vs a computer guessing on remaining fuel?

The fuel tank holds 14.5 gallons. I don't trust the miles to empty. Mine got to 31 and stayed there for 10 miles, then went to zero. Fill up before the fuel light comes on, about 40 miles to go.

pumps + senders are usually in tank. DON'T run under a 1/4 tank as fuel cools pump + chance to pickup dirt in tank is greater!!
