Hello Guys,

I was just wondering what goes into the fuel injector cleaning service they offer at oil change places and such? Is it something that I can do at home? I've done the pour the bottle into the tank cleaner before.

Thanks

Not needed unless car has specific problems. Use fuel from known sources and you will be fine.

Most tank additives are simply snake oil.

After every service, I fill up my tank and add those STP fuel injector cleaners.
Does it do anything? I have no idea! But I'm sure it won't do anything bad! :)

Carbon builds up on the injectors over time regardless where you buy your fuel from.

I personally use Millers eco max fuel additive at every fill up and that keeps the whole fuel system free of crap including the build up of carbon in the injectors.
