So yesterday I had the code saying that my ftps wasn't working but it went off after like 15 miles of driving this has happend 2 other times. Do I need to change it and how do you change it? Is it very hard could my dad and I change it?

Indication of an intermittent.

Either the connector is

• loose/corroded, or
• damaged harness, or
• the internal rheostat/contact is worn...

Before you start replacing parts it is imperative that you get a DVOM and test... Philip

It would be helpful if you posted the -specific DTC code- that was read, so we can better advise you of (which) part, location, how to test..

Sorry do taking so long finally had a chance to get auto zone to read the code while it was still on ( the light turns off sometimes.) anyways the code is p0452

That is a fuel tank pressure sensor voltage low DTC,

it could be the FTPS, or it could be an issue w/ wiring:

Recommend, using a digital multimeter, to check the voltage at the FTPS connector / follow the diagnostic steps for the code:
