Hey everyone

So, in between 20MPH and 50MPH i get this whining from my front end, kind of sounding like some lube is needed somewhere, or something is really tired. I have a 2005 Sorento with 121,912 miles.

Anyone else know what this could be, or have this issue and what you know about it?

Thanks!

Are you married? If so check the front passenger seat.

Seriously though I find mine whines quite noticeably under accleration when the air con is on. So presumeably it is from the AC compressor. Since the AC works fine I've not bothered with it. Another possibility is a tensioner bearing on one of the belts. Also check your transfer case oil if yours is 4WD.

Mine had a whinning and it was the lower intake plentum. Kia replaced it under a recall. Mine sounded like someone was blowing over a bottle top and it did this a 2k rpm up until 3k rpm.
