I have to share this.

I was cruising craigslist this weekend and ran into an add for a 2001 Kia Spectra with 15K miles. It turns out the owner is a Repo man. He Repo'd this car back in 2002. Its sat in his yard for the last 9 years!! The sun has done quite a bit of damage to the paint and lights. The interior in good shape.

In the end, I picked it up for $2075. I have a list of things to do that add up to about $600 (tires, wipers, radio, etc...). In the end, I think it was a good deal.

Question to the audience...

Do you think I need to replace the timing belt? It only has 15K miles, but I'm afraid it may be dry rotted.

What do you think?

A belt that old...I would replace it...
Rubber drys out and the cords inside the belt also go bad.
