Hi,

My 2013 Rio 5 LX came without fog lights and I would like to fit OEM units.

On eBay I have seen many sellers from Korea selling cheap complete kits including the complete housing, lights, stalk and even harness.

Does anyone have any experience with buying these and fitting them? Are they really genuine parts?

Plan was to purchase genuine OEM parts cheaply and get main dealer to fit so that I dont run into any warranty issues.

My light switch stalk on the steering wheel has one rear fog light setting. Is it not possible to wire the front fog lights to this so that both front and rear lights come on at the same time. Is it necessary to have both a front and rear fog light switch?

Many thanks.

Hi here in the us the LX models don't have front or rear fog lamps. I bought a set from ebay for my sedan which also required the lower grill to be replaced with one that had the cut outs and holes for the screws. The parts are genuine and shouldn't cause any warranty issues. I had mine installed at my local kia dealership took 3hrs to do. I was being cheap and bought a set that didn't include the turn signal switch but had its own independent button. The fog lights were wired into my position lamps so they will cut on with them and can be cut off using the fog light switch that came with them. My avatar is a picture of how they look

What do rear fog lamps do?

Ill post pics tomorrow

I know that atleast in Finland and the UK that we have a rear fog lamp fitted. It is located on the bottom rear bumper on the drivers side. Do you have these fitted in the U.S. or are they called something else?

See photo of rear fog lamp plus fog lamp setting on LX steering wheel switch.

The EX models have two settings, one for front and one for rear.

Do all Rio's have the same wiring looms /harnesses right across the range?

I popped into my local Kia dealer today and there was only a person there that deals with spare parts. He just said that the installation could be super easy if wiring is present or very difficult if not.

Yeah i got the same question for European cars.
I found this on ebay.

2012 2013 KIA ALL NEW RIO 5DOOR FOG Light Complete KIT Wiring Harness MF Switch | eBay

its a full kit with wires,BUT it has only one fog light switch (the front)

i have the back fog light and if i buy this ill lose the back lamp switch.

It has to look like this

I cant seem to find a switch that has both options.

Theres such thing as rear fogs? I thought they were just red reflector pieces and not lights
just reflectors on North American models
Only poked my head under the car once so far - thought they looked like you could possibly hook a bulb into the reflector area and be good to go. Will have to look again.

I envision myself doing so using a 1157? bulb and my uHaul trailer light converter I had on my Elantra. Then I'd have 5 brake lights, and 4 signals (2 each side).

Could someone with the rear foglight snap a picture of the housing where the wires go to? for that foglight?

You'd have to cut an opening into the housing and fit a bulb, there's space yes, but there's no place for it. You have to make space. Also, unless you have a contact in Europe, its VERY difficult to get European market OEM parts for cars.

If you want to add tails to them, you could do exled's setup. exLED Panel Lighting Rear Reflector LED Module for All New Pride(Rio,2011~) Hatchback Not QUITE the same, but if you want just brake and turn, you'd just not hook up the tail power and hook up the brake power to your fog wire that you bring back from the front.
