Does anyone know how I get a European Union Certificate Of Conformity for my 2004 Kia Sorento EX?

I want to export my car to France, and I need the paperwork to prove that it meets EU standards for emissions etc.

Do you know what modifications might be needed to the head/fog lights?

It has KPH and MPH on the speedo, so that's fine.

Otherwise, does anyone want to buy it for $18k or so in California?!

yes, that's what one of the kia-usa techs said, but they don't have any clue what a certificate of conformity is, and seem incredibly unhelpful - they haven't offered to contact kia europe or anything.

the joe kerley dealership where i bought the car was equally unhelpful.

Kia America said they can get me a certificate, but it would take 4 weeks, and they need a copy of my title.

The title is still with the finance company who say it will take them 4-6 weeks to get the title from the DMV and fax it to Kia!

So more proof that finance companies are unhelpful scum. I bet if I took the car out of the country without paying for it, they'd get in a hurry (not that I'd do that)!
