thanks for the info!
i have the 4.5.7.3 version on my navigation.

I checked with my dealer a couple of months ago and he said he can't even find the 5.0.1 update (that's present on new sportage arrivals) in the KIA system.

Do you know if this update has a special code or how can it be obtained?
Is there a "changelog" between 4.5.7.3 -> 5.0.1 -> 5.1.3?
Are those only navigation SW updates or also navteq material and/or bluetooth engine updates?

Thanks!

There is no official download of the software on the net.

The update is delivered to the KIA dealership on a USB stick.
The only official way to get it ask your dealer.
This update is free of charge.

There is no real changelog.
KIA has TSB (Technical Service Bulletin ) documents where they explain wat has changed.
And how it must be done.
If you register and pay you can read them on KIA-HOTLINE.COM

No new maps, that lies in the hands of NAVTEQ. :crying:

But there is one major improvement in the software that does the map database handling.

Bluetooth I don't know.

More info tomorrow.

hey wtf is wrong with these people?

i payed for 1h access and can't view/read/download any TSBs !!!!
Either some VB script errors or HTTP 500 Server error when clicking any TSB.

Found some TSBs associated with my model, including some seat lever adjustment, but can't see the content. Browsing them works OK strangely enough!

What a ripoff

By the way, i can't see any navigation/update related TSBs on kia-hotline.com

Bowie97,

I am awaiting your news about this SW update. I am suffering a problem in the navi with a Windows CE window saying "Program Memory is low" ... bla, bla, bla ... during all this week ...

I tried to unplug the fuse, the battery and everything and the problem disappears but after some time it comes back so I cannot use any more the navi as the touch screen is useless.

Today, after several tries, I have discovered that it is related with the Bluetooth, so if my Blackberry is connected I have the problem, otherwise not. I will continue with the tests so I can confirm that it is a bluetooth problem but I have had the same cell phone during 4 months and no problem.

Maybe the 5.1.3 SW solves this problem, maybe it is just a dream, anyway, let us know ... In one service point here in Madrid they told me they have to send the Navi to the factory and it takes one week to come back ...

Regards

ghaber

so is there a newer version of maps from Navteq since 4.5.7.3?
If 5.1.3 does not update map or POI database, was there an update in 5.0.1?

The navigation.com/kia site is still dead.

I NEED THIS UPDATE!

My Sportage is going in on Thursday for an issue with the rear seat belts, and I will make sure it doesn't leave the garage without this update!

Thanks for the info.

I have found the update already on the Internet.
There are two versions, one is slightly larger and contains two more files, probably from Russia.
The other looks more like the real update.

Here a LINK to a txt file with more details.

If you update it is on your on risk.

Keep your engine running, or use a charger
