*Engine, not "Enging..."
Something very odd happened yesterday when I started my car after work.
On the way to work in the morning, all was well with the car! After work when I started the car, I noticed that the Engine Light was on, the Auto-Stop indicator was Yellow/Amber and remained on (usually this is not illuminated unless the system was initiated-in that case its illuminated green..), and the gear indicator (P, R, N, D etc.) was blank. I drove for a short time (during which I took the photo) and noticed I really needed to punch the gas pedal for any kind of power. Almost like it was in Eco mode, which was not turned on. I eventually pulled over and parked, put the car in Park, turned everything off, then started the car again. Now everything appeared normal on the dash-except the Engine light was still illuminated and has not gone off. I drove home and only noticed a slight weakness in pickup when accelerating. This morning when I started the car, I experienced the same thing that happened the evening before. When I turned off the car and re-started, again all was normal except the engine light remained on.
Also over the weekend before this, I noticed the pick up was a bit weak while driving on the freeway-but it was 90+degrees outside and we were blasting the a/c (Max A/C), so I attributed that to the power being pulled to run the a/c.
Im taking it into a Kia dealer tomorrow to have it checked but wondering if anyone else has experience this or anything similar? It seems so random..
The car is approaching its 60 month birthday and is just under 51,000 miles, so not brand new, but not old either. Im a bit frustrated
