I have a 1,4 GSL FL SW and I've noticed there is no engine splash shield. Only two very small ones under the engine.

The diesel version has a splash shield that cover the entire engine.

What was the reasons why the manufacturer doesn't provide such kind of shield both for diesel and gasoline engines ?

Does it worth to install one ?

If you start modifying the car you could affect the cooling. Leave well alone, its the way Kia designed it to be.

Indeed this aspect was highlighted by some of my forum fellows (Prima pagin?).
But, the roads in Romania are very dirty, in terms of dust, mud and so on. This is the main reason for why I considered this possible option.

A dirty engine compartment is so unpleasant and I'm wondered if will not affect in the future the different parts of the "factory under the hood"
