Welcome to the forum.

You mention that in your country the change the horse power ....... what country would that be, ..... Lybia, India, UK, ..... ?

Add the detail to your profile, like model, year, etc.

Post a picture of your engine and if possible your VIN, and we could help identify your model.

1.6 or 1.8 is the displacement (in litres) of the engine, not the horsepower rating.

Displacement is the measure of total volume of all the cylinders.

Displacement is calculated by one stroke of the piston, from it's upper most position to it's lowermost position, then multiplied by the number of cylinders.

So in the case of a 4 cylinder, 1.6 litre engine, each cylinder displaces 400cc, about the same as a medium sized motorcycle.

Horsepower can vary depending on engine effeciency, technology and design. A modern engine of that size would usually produce "about" 100 horsepower, but only 20 years ago it might have produced only 60 horsepower.
