Hi, I'm hoping some one might know how to remove and clean a Kia Rio 1.5 Diesel EGR Valve.
The cost of getting it replaced is high and I thought that I could give cleaning it ago first.
Any information would be welcomed. Cheers.
Depending on the year you may be able to get away with simply disconnecting it or blanking it. I used a resistor to fool the ECU into thinking one was connected. Disconnecting it put the engine into a protection mode (I think for turbo speed) so it lost a few horses, connecting the resistor brought back the power, but the turbo does whistle. Mine's 2006 and neither option brought on the engine light nor created any OBD codes, but I think later models may throw a code and put the light on if you try what I did.
