Apologies if this has been asked and answered before but searching didn't seem to result in anything conclusive.

Do the DRLs dim at night when the low beams turn on?

I had in my head they wouldn't but I noticed today they did do that.

Cheers and thanks

It depends on the region, in Canada the DRL turn off when the low beams are turned on. In the US the DRL supposedly dim when the low beams are turned on.

As mentioned above, they do dim in the USA when low beams are on. And, for good reason! When I pull into my garage at night and turn the headlight control to "off" the LEDs light up my entire garage. They're super bright and would basically blind/distract drivers at night at full blast ;-p

Give it a try one night if you haven't seen how bright they are at night when headlight control is set to off.

Same here in the UK - They dim when you put the sidelights on.

As mentioned above, they really are bright on their full setting.

I went out the other night, started the engine, and the reflection off the wall in front from the DRLs made me think I had my headlights on already!
