The Sorento XSE has 255/55 R18 tyres, whereas the Sorento XS has 245/70 R16 tyres.

Is this difference of much importance practically? I have placed on order for the XS and am wondering whether to order the 18" tyres. However, I don't plan to ever go off-road with it.

Many thanks for any advice.

The 18" wheels will make speedo run 1.6% fast, so at indicated 60mph you are doing 59.1mph.

Plus, IMHO (and I've driven a LOT of sorentos) the 18" tyred ones ride much nicer than 16" shod cars... the tyres are softer which helps.

OK, thanks for the advice.

Does it make any difference to the fuel economy (apart from the 1.6% difference in mileage)?

Is it possible to get the 18" tyres fitted on the XS and rougly how much £ are we talking about?
