Hi,

Looking at installing diff breathers.
Looking at other vehicles, the install/screw in a new connector and then put pipe on top of it.
Does anyone know what size the connector needs to be.
(by connector i mean unscrewing the old diff breather and screwing a new one. Looking for the thread pattern details)
Does it match any other car?
can i get one intended for say a pathfinder?
are they the same?
I get the rest of the work, send the pipe up to higher surface...
Its just the bit that goes into/onto the diff i dont get...

If anyone has done it, how/what you use?

Why do you want/need to change the existing connector? There were some posts about this in the dim distant past. Just put a flexible pipe on them. (Diff(s) and transfer case I seem to recall)

I presume so he can use a barbed connector so they are more likely to stay put.

Well, the ones i have seen (the kits that you buy) have the barbed style connector as cmar mentions.
But can you just rip the top off the standard diff breater and put some pipe on it?
It seems to a have a spring sort of thing on it, and i really dont know if it will allow itself to have a tube fitted to it, as i haven't seen a photo.

This is my first 4wd, and the first car i am doing more than an oil change on, learning online really and just giving things a go. So i really go by photos, and just haven't seen anyone post pics on what they have done(on a sorento at least).

Gee6, did you just pull it apart and stick a tube on it?
Does it adapt well?

Never done it myself as I don't have the need. I think it may have been 'pistnbroke' who posted.
