Was it a hard choice for anyone else? In the end I thought the rio hatch will age better 2 years from now...

It would have been a harder choice if the turbo Veloster was out last October when I got my Rio. Like you, I think the Rio will age a bit better. But I was also turned off by the driver side door being longer than the passenger side door.

I contemplated it...but with two kids, i needed that fourth door. Plus, the Veloster was more expensive.

I really liked the Veloster but bought an SX Sedan .I think it's all a matter of personal choice.I prefer a 3 box sedan to the somewhat faddish styling of Hyundai.It was also $2500 more & no heated steering wheel or Leather.

I test drove the Veloster... It didn't feel particularly nice. The ride was dodgy and the power... Well, what power. :S
Build quality was typical of 2011 Hyundai/Kia. Bloody brilliant.

RE: Power. I had just traded in a 2.2ltr CRDi Sorento for a 2ltr TDI Octavia vRS. Both are diesel and have insane power. >.<

I wanted the Veloster, but the Rio5 just seemed like a better deal.
