There has been an annoying rattle in the passenger side dash for several month and I finally decided to figure out what it was. After removing the glovebox I found out it was the whole heater housing that was vibrating at certain engine RPMs.

If you have this problem You might want to try this: get 2 rubber washers about 1 inch in diameter and 1/8 or so thick. The ones I have look like they have fabric sandwiched between the rubber. Loosen the 2 nuts that hold the bottom of the heater to the firewall. Now partially cut the washers in half so you can slip them between the firewall bracket and the heater housing flange. The rubber washer should encircle the stud coming out of the bracket. Now snug up the nuts again, with the rubber washers as a cushion between the heater and firewall. The Kia is now rattle-free!
