All gauges seem to get frozen in time. I turn the car on, tachometer registers 800isg, speedometer is 0, and fuel/temp gauges seem normal. Start driving but all gauges stay where they are as if frozen in time. This is me driving at about 30 mph:
on the highway all stays the same, but then I flash the high beams to let a car over, and the gauges all jump to what they are supposed to be and freeze there. Me stuck in traffic a couple minutes later:
Get on side road and play with high beam stalk but cannot get the gauges to react. Park the car for a bit. When I get back, everything still frozen back to idle amounts, but after 5 minutes of driving the check engine light comes on.
After another 10 minutes of driving all gauges return to normal function but check engine light remains on. I will scan the code tomorrow, but haven’t seen anything like this before. It’s not like the gauges are dead, they just go the the value at a specific moment then get frozen there. Maybe a bad ground somewhere? Any suggestions? Many thanks.
