Dash Camera

I'm looking into getting a Dash Camera for my Sportage and looking for recommendations (this might be as controversial as what oil should I use?). I know I want a two channel system (forward and rear view), with WiFi access from my IPhone. Expecting to pay $200 - $300 for a quality unit. Where I'm getting hung up:
1. Do I get a unit that straps onto the rear view mirror? However those units don't seem to act as a regular mirror and I'm not sure I want to look at a monitor as a rear view mirror while driving.
2. Windscreen mount camera? My concern here is partial blocking of forward field of view no matter how high and tight to the mirror mount I put the camera. Suction mount is definitely a no for me.

Alright camera geeks, what you got? why you like/no like? Let the games begin!...Oh, and thanks in advance.

Keep in mind that if you have a dashcam, if you're involved in an accident it may be a liability. The insurance company will surely subpoena the video and could quite possibly use it against you if there's any perceived issue with your involvement in any accident. You already almost surely have the black box recording the actual driving conditions before and during any accident, and more and more those are being subpoenaed in accident cases to determine liability. Big brother is already watching, but are you sure you want to give him that much help?
I understand the concern how having a dash cam could possibly work against you in an accident. I drive cautiously and like an old lady as it is, just avoided a nasty accident of a tractor trailer crashing into the center median and jack knifing in front of me during a heavy snowstorm, then almost getting rear ended by a speeding truck coming up from behind because they didn’t see the accident in time and slid by me. That was a case to have a camera to prove my innocence. It’s a double edged sword for sure.
