It all depends on how good a driver you are. I was in an accident recently without a dash cam and the insurance company settled because I couldn't prove the other car went through a red light. I just put a dashcam in both of my cars. I tend to be a truthful type, so if the accident was my fault, I'll take responsibility. I absolutely hate people who lie or won't take responsibility for their actions... Why should any of us be afraid of the truth if we don't do anything wrong?Keep in mind that if you have a dashcam, if you're involved in an accident it may be a liability. The insurance company will surely subpoena the video and could quite possibly use it against you if there's any perceived issue with your involvement in any accident. You already almost surely have the black box recording the actual driving conditions before and during any accident, and more and more those are being subpoenaed in accident cases to determine liability. Big brother is already watching, but are you sure you want to give him that much help?
