I just got my second '99 Sportage and since my first one, something has me stumped. It's the thing located on the dash by your left knee right next to the dash dimmer switch. Kind of looks like a change holder but no change will go there. Anybody have an idea what the heck this is for???

If its what I think your talking about its a change holder.

Not all cars are US only, currency elsewhere are different sizes is probably why the size difference.

*edit*

Ive got the manual and chiltons/haynes at home, when off work if nobody has 100% said it is a change holder I will look it up and post back :) I know its in there because I was reading how to remove it yesterday :p

Its black, about 4 inchs or so wide and has 2 to 4 divider lines going from top to bottom.

The coin holder is a device that encourages thieves to smash windows for the change, best left unused... Philip
