I've just recently noticed that I've got what appears to be the clear coat flaking off on a couple of my rims (one I saw a month or so ago and I just noticed tonight while washing the car.
The silver paint is still there but you can see a difference in the colour. both are in the same area, towards the inside of the rim in the corner where the spoke meets the outside of the rim barrel.

Is this common or is this a problem? I mentioned the problem to the dealer when it went in for a oil change last month and they really didn't even acknowledge it.

Down south of the parallel, we get 3 years 36K miles of paint warranty, and whether the dealer prefers to acknowledge it due to the fact that it's rims and not body, you're dealing with paint.

Paint repairs due to non-impact discoloration,
fading, cracking, chipping, or flaking are covered for
the first 36 Months/36,000 miles.
