To Kia friends, I need info on how to clean the throttle body and related parts on a 1999 1.8 litre Kia Sephia. The easiest safest way would be appreciated. Is this a job for the backyard mechanic? How often should this be done? Any info(good or of bad experiences appreciated). Thanks. speedster1

if you clean it use throttle body cleaner "NOT" carb cleaner throttle body cleaner is sensor safe...i would'nt image it being to hard. when i do my bronco's i just remove the air duct, take the throttle body cleaner, and spray down the throttle body. my bronco's are not mass air flow there speed density so make sure the cleaner is safe for mass air flow cuz i think that's what kia has as far as intakes styles.

oh yeah spray the throttle body down while car is running try not to let it die. you can do that by working the throttle linkage while you spray. if it looks realy bad when you look at the TB make sure you check your plugs ater becuz they may be fouled from all the carbon deposite.
