The check engine light is one is my car. It has been on since 10,000 miles. The code reads a 343 which is the camshaft sensor. No one can seem to fix this error. The dealer tried previous and told me to bring it back because they had to call some tech support line and they also want to charge me $500. I've taken it to another body shop who charged me $350 and the light is still on. I have to get my car to pass inspection and it won't pass if I can't get this light to go off. It critical now because I have moved to a state where inspections are mandatory. I currently have 87,000 miles on the car. Any advice?

Since you brought it to the last place have you got it scanned again? maybe there is another problem? also if you need the inspection like now when you get very close to the inspection station open hood undo the neg battery cable get in car with cable disconnected and hit brakes. this will reset the codes and should get you to pass.

Just bring it into your nearest Auto ZOne and have them scan it. Taking it to the dealer they will tell you anything just to make a quick buck, I have a 2000 kia sephia myself and just had a bunch of work done by my family member that didnt even need done.
