Your local auto parts store can read the code being thrown and let you know what the issue is. Then you can take it from there, either fix it yourself or take it in to a shop. Playing a guessing game is expensive and time consuming. Let someone qualified take a OBD scanner and help you out.

 

Flashing is usually bad (like worse than a solid check-engine light). I wouldn't drive it any further until you at least read the codes.
