IIRC yours is an early one.

So...

You need to prise/pull the whole surround off including the buttons, comes out in one piece, but is quite firmly fixed!
I put my fingers in the storage tray, push down to wedge them in, and pull bottom out..
It will come out but it's tight!
Then just remove the four screws holding the unit in...
sorry no ISO DIN cage on these, so it's a pain to get the new stereo in just the right place.. had plenty of practise so I've got the knack!
At least the wiring is std ISO.

Later cars have a slightly different setup, with a DIN cage sort of thing, but as UK uses a JVC unit, we have to remove this on PDi's and drill 2 holes to make the JVC fit.. cheers KIA!

You will need the KIA to ISO adaptor.
Yours will have the later 'cage' fitted, depending on how the Sony locks into a cage you may have to remove the cars cage and drill a couple of holes to secure the unit.

For future reference, the switch plugs are all unique fit, can't get them mixed up.

Later cars have a slightly different setup, now use a normal DIN cage, so you should be able to remove the OE fit with the tools, that hopefully will be supplied!

OK, in that case it's a little more involved, but still simple enough!

You will need to rmove the centre dash panel which houses audio, stoarge pocaket and the 4 switches.
To remove it, puts your hands in the storage pocket, press down and grip, and pull, it will then unclip, all clips so don't panic!
Unclip the switches, they are all unique fitting, so you won;t get them mixed up!
there will be a metal cage screwed in, test see if your stereo will lock into place in it, if it will, plug it in, and replace panel!

If not, remove the metal cage with 4 screws, throw in bin!
Now fit your standard DIN audio cage to the switch/console panel, fold as many tabs over as possible to secure it, then your good as done!
Re-assemble!

One item you will need from your dealer, is the KIA loom to ISO connector loom, this just plugs inbetween stereo and kia loom, job done.
