We switched from a mid-sized sedan to Sorento 2013 and noticed that the Sorento cabin is shaking more --- going over a pothole, and the car shakes between left and right ...

The vehicle is in good shape (at least Kia certified it) and the tire pressure are all good. Is this normal?

If so, is there anything easy/cheap doable to the suspension to improve the situation?

Thanks.

It's an SUV, that's the way they ride? If it didn't shake, you'd have an even stiffer ride.

I agree, if your using a stock 18" rims it will have more "shakes" as you desribed it. 17" is more tolerable. Sometimes a quick solution is to find a more softer SUV tires or replacing it's suspensions from SX models. Welcome to the club of shakens..:)

For the LX, the suspension is as much as it can get on the "not shaking" front ?

I thought "Four-wheel independent suspension" means it is less shaky...

Just means it's better over uneven territory. High centre of gravity plus compliant suspension and high profile tyres will make it shake, I reckon.

You could talk to a suspension specialist about better dampers.
