I've had my 2022 Sorento for a couple months now and LOVE it!! However, I've been noticing a significant lag in the navigation when using Google Maps via Apple Car Play. Not only does the navigation lag considerably, but the touch response time (for example to exit the route by touching the screen in the vehicle) lags quite a bit as well.

Anyone having this issue? Any fixes?

I've noticed this too! I switched to Apple Maps for a bit, and now using Waze, I tried resetting my phone and still get the problem, maybe a software issue with google maps.

A number of people have commented on similar issues. Even with a delay with WAZE. IMO, it is just the nature of the beast with CarPlay.

I also think the KIA nav system is not that great. Has nothing to do with Sorento, as the KIA nav is universal throughout their whole line. It is my understanding that no car manufacturer's nav system is very good as they can't hold a candle to the likes of Garmin.

I had that same issue and realized it's the Google maps app. Everything worked fine until I started the Google maps app (Apple maps worked fine, too). Check that you have the latest Google maps update on your phone.

I've tried Apple Maps, Google Maps and Waze with the OTTOCAST Wireless CarPlay Adapter and Waze is by far the best and most accurate traffic updates and re-routing.

That's interesting. Since all CarPlay users from all makes (not just Kia) have been making the same complaints on Google Maps products (Waze, Google Maps, I think there are others). If the update did somehow fix an Apple issue, I'll update now. I'm skeptical though. My conspiracy theory is that Apple wants users to use Apple Maps (which is adding police and road warnings like Waze) and is lagging their competitors. I've been using Waze since it came out and can't do without it now. Its' user base is so large and helpful. I don't think Apple can sway that many users, especially since it is cross-platform (Waze).

Just update Kia navigator firmware to latest update from Feb 2023 and that solve it completely!!! Don’t go to agency, they don’t know how to fix it. Do it yourself on link below:
