If you have it...even $2000 is a deal when you throw in a used tranny at $500.
As always "replace the TB"
Good Luck

just called the same local salvage yard around my area for a trans. they told me $450.00 plus $100.00 core charge, and i also called kia and they told me $920.00 for a totally rebuild trans and TC plus $1000.00 core charge but i already have one laying around so im not worried about the core charge. if i ended up gettin this spectra which route would you go as far as purchasing the trans? i plan on keeping the spectra and not re-sell it.

Not a good sign...may have sold it... Here's hoping..

If you do get it here's two pretty close by. Top one is a good buy..
Look at the VIN and get mfr date...Two different trannys. One up to 11/2006 and the other AFTER 11/2006. One side pan the other bottom pan.

These are ***AFTER 11/2006***
2007 Transmission Kia SpectraTESTED GOOD ,2.0L,FLR,AT 5,400miles A 461796 $450 Paradise Auto Parts USA-MD(Elkton) 1-888-811-5051/410-620-5051

2008 Transmission Kia Spectra 32K mile A X2205 $350 Dirkes Used Auto Parts USA-NJ(Mays-Landing) 1-800-328-9414 (aprox 130miles away and a little higher mileage))

thanks Dave. i check the other thread out and commented. i notice that our body style spectra mostly have the same trans issue. the spectra im trying to buy now has the same issue i had on my current spectra before i replaced the trans. i might have to take the other trans out and see if the solder have broke off and see if i can repair it. Also i talk to the seller he still have the spectra he was just busy i guess. I am suppose to meet him on friday night to come take a look at the car.
