My daily driver, a 1988 Suburban, is in dire need of maintenance. My wallet is in dire need of something that can exceed 12MPG! Some friends of mine are moving away and are selling their 2005 Sportage. I'm not familiar with these cars, so I have a couple of questions for the more experienced folks.
The car has 90,500 miles on it and the price is right. It has the 4cyl motor with 5 speed manual transmission. It's got what looks to be a 2" lift with some larger wheels/tires on it. I'm not too concerned about that, as it handles fine and what not. Unless this is for some reason a red flag, I'm not worried about it. There are two other issues.
First, the cigarette lighter/power has been disconnected because it apparently caused a battery drain, and disconnecting it (I'm assuming by removing the fuse) solved the issue. Is this indicative of any other problems? I'll need USB power at the very least, but I am handy enough I can safely and properly run that directly to the battery with a fused connection.
Second, the passenger front window will not go down, and perhaps unrelated, the power doors locks do not work. Are these generally straightforward fixes?
Thanks for any and all tips before I put my money down on this good looking, fun to drive car.

Power window issue, can be the main window switch on the driver side as I had this issue with my 06 Sportage yrs ago, because I left the window down a crack during a rain storm.. Or it could just be the motor on that window, very easy to replace.. The ciggerate lighter issue is weird never heard or had that problem with mine. Then again mine lasted over 168 K miles without a single issue...Make sure to check when the timing belt was changed as mentioned.. If it has not been done do so, because that is a interferring engine. Also check for any leaks which you can do just by doing a visual inspection from under the hood, and even looking from the bottom.
Thanks @doubledragon for the response. Hopefully it's just easy stuff. Maybe somebody spilled a drink on the lighter socket or something. Either way, shouldn't be too difficult to solve.
Sounds like my main priority will be getting the timing belt job done which I guess will cost about $1k if what I'm reading is accurate.
