I have been using the search engine trying to find how to determine when my Sorento was built. I see many references to when cars were produce, but not how this is determined. I have tried the Kia Global Information System website, but didn't find it there either. I know many of you must be familiar with this but it is baffling me!

the month and year is on your door post, but not the specific date. This VIN breakdown info is from KGIS.

if you want the exact date, just give the VIN number to your dealer (he should have it on record) and he can tell you exactly when it was built - that's what my dealer did for me.

for the Sorento you will see "G" for the plant as its built in West Point, Georgia.

Well, I feel kind of dumb for not checking there! I just went out and looked at mine and it says JUL 27 2010. I was surprised to see the day of the month on the tag. Thanks a bunch for the info!

that's unusual, but you usually don't see the precise date, just the month and year.
