Symptoms sound typical for a bypassing master cylinder. You would not loose any fluid but the seals can leak internally and allow the first stage to leak down to the second. It used to be very common but not so much on modern vehicles.

The windshield was repaired, but not satisfactory, so then it was replaced and the dealership is also going to touch up the rock chips in the bumper that were likely caused at the same time...

As for the brakes they've been performing but still feel a bit softer than I remember, but it may just be in my head. Maybe somebody else can help, is it normal for the brake pedal to travel all the way to the floor at a red light (engine running)? I wanted to test drive another vehicle to compare but when I dropped it off it was earlier than Sales hours.
