when you said "the brakes intermittently not working...", it sounded like you were describing the ABS.
No as you first hit the pedal it is solid but it's only done it twice the first time was only for a second but today friday i ended up through a steel gate post and rect the front end of my car. the car is now back with the dealer but their not looking at it untill Monday.Originally posted by 54FLX@Sep 24 2004, 02:16 PM
Sounds like you have a serious problem...![]()
How old is the car? Is it still under warranty? If so get it back to the dealer pronto. If not get a professional to check the brake system out ASAP.
Better that than finding yourself in intensive care!!!!
When you say brake pedal has gone solid, is that becasue it is right on the floor? If so allow it to return upwards and pump the pedal repeatedly. Does some amount of braking return? If so it is more than likely there is air in the system and it requires bleading.. B)
Stoneacre Wallasey the dealer refuses to help. Said they had looked at the brakes and found no problem.Originally posted by Murphwiz@Sep 29 2004, 11:55 AM
Any update on this?
A solid pedal sounds like a servo failure, no reported probelms so far with the picanto... apart from the rear brake squeal.
Only recall issued was for the steering wheel, but this was at launch so 99% were fixed prior to delivery.
