Any update on this?

A solid pedal sounds like a servo failure, no reported probelms so far with the picanto... apart from the rear brake squeal.
Only recall issued was for the steering wheel, but this was at launch so 99% were fixed prior to delivery.

I would advise you to contact KIA UK customer care, they take any complaints very seriously!
KIA contact the dealer complained about within hours, and the dealer must reply by end of business that day.
Have you tried another dealer?

I've heard on zero problems similar to yours so far, sounds like you do have a problem, but a really crap dealer who hasn't looked properly at your car.

I hate it when people say thumps desks and such like..
Working in that sort of enviroment I'm often called out for techincal queries and customer concerns.. desk thumping gets you no-where with me, ask me politely, I'll bend over backwards to help.
Most normal people react quite the same.. try it next time you want something.
