Hi All,

I have been putzing with the Borrego some today. I am now on Xmas break and it is my first chance to really check out the Borrego and work on a couple of minor issues.

1. The locking pin in the receiver hitch with no tubular key has been cut off. Done!

2. I am in the process of ordering a Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller. Looks like an easy self install. I can even order the wiring harness for the Borrego, so I can Plug n Play. My only dilemma is trying to find the ding dang receiver plug on the Borrego for plugging the brake controller into it. Where does Kia put the receiver plug for brake controller on the Borrego?

Thanks,

Dean

P.S. - I know where my 7 pin receiver plug is on the Borrego. No problem. What is this in the following picture? I am guessing it is a plug for a trailer with lights, but not brakes?

Whatever that is, it isn't stock. What is it wired to? Look in the book about wiring up the brake controller. Might have some info on that. You must be a teacher, being that you are on break. Me too! Enjoy the time off.

Hi johnmark23,

Thanks for your response. Now there is a novel idea, checkout out the Owner's Manual!!! ;)

Acutally, it does give me the general location of the service connector for the brake controller. It appears to be under the driver's side dash as expected. Specifically, it looks like it might be directly above the parking brake. I will check again tomorrow.

Regarding the the wiring harness connector in the above picture, I think it is a connector for a trailer for just lights??? Check out the Owner's Manual picture below.

Thanks,

Dean

P.S. - Yup, I work at a university and the university is closed until 1/4/16. NICE!

Regarding the picture in my first post, I followed the wiring today from the rear of the Rego to the front. It seems to be wired to the the battery.

Thx,

Dean
