Just curious what folks' experience has been on getting body parts for the Borrego. My wife rear ended someone last night  The front bumper cover is pushed out of place and the paint is cracked but it may be salvageable. The black honeycomb grill between the fog lamps is smashed as is the passenger side fog lamp. There is some damage to the bumper mount (I'm assuming some sort of sacrificial crumple parts) and a little bent metal and peeled paint beneath the bumper. It's driveable so I'm not too worried about a long wait for parts, but I'd like to get it fixed as soon as we can.

I like that grill-putting the Mohave badging on it would really throw people for a loop since we already get a lot of "what is that?" already :D I'm not planning to do the work myself-I'll tackle lots of different kinds of mechanical work but generally avoid messing around with body work. A body shop will be doing the work, I was just wondering if anyone had experienced long waits when a shop ordered body parts for their Borrego. I'm guessing that the aftermarket (at least here in the U.S.) doesn't offer much and that we'll be getting Kia parts as a result.

The fact that they (Kia) made so few of the Borregos and sold so few of them in the US is the problem. I would imagine most aftermarket body parts makers probably don't do Borregos. That said, Kia should be able to supply you with the needed parts. There is a federal law that requires the manufacturer to provide replacement parts for 10 years.

If you like...I'll need the last 8 of your vin #, and a list of the parts you need, I'll look them up, and check to see where they are coming from. All OEM Kia parts. PM me if you like.

KIADAD...
The same laws that required that the industries had to repair electronics for the same period of time (7yrs)...You see what that has gotten you...Chinese electronics (and soon cars) that there is NO support for repairs after the 90 Day warranty...After 90 Days it's yours and forget about repairing your $1000 50" TV ...You Loose...
Just buy another TV and take a chance...

Good luck on getting parts "if" the original manufacturer decides they don't want to make or stock them...

Our "Law Makers" are useless in enforcing the Federal laws now on the books and proceed to generate even more laws that intrude into our lives...

BadFish...You may have to buy salvage parts or travel to Canada to get "close" parts for your Borrego in the near future as KIA still sells them there..

I figured I'd post an update-the body shop actually has the parts they need already-my company requires that they source OEM if possible and they had no trouble at all. They're just so backed up with car/deer collisions they asked if we could wait until November to bring it in :D

Then in November they will be backed up with snow related accidents :)
....Glad they were able to get the "proper parts" ...

BTW... in no way are these snide remarks or an attack upon you or yours...
Readers can't get the proper meanings sometimes in posts and my intent is/was to help...

Been a lot of mis-understandings recently here and I don't wish to add to them
