Just bought a '12 EX w/premium. Had no problem pairing both cell phones but both when using handsfree the person on the other end complains of low volume. The phones are different brands. Is there any way to increase the volume being transmitted? Also, where is the microphone in the Sorento? Thanks

What kind of phone(s)? Does bluetooth work on the phone with other headsets?

Perhaps someone else is using the same phone or phones and can provide a comparison.

When the bluetooth is on on my Android Nexus phone, it clearly shows bluetooth is on. There is no "handsfree" mode since the mic and audio is being redirected and sent/received via bluetooth.

That's pretty funny. You can't increase your outgoing volume. That is the mic in the headliner. You can only increase the incoming volume that you hear.

That being said, sometimes I do talk up towards the ceiling in order for the Speech recognition to work better, or for people to hear me better. It depends on road noise..etc...

Yes, I thought that volume control might work both ways.

Bluetooth is a funny business; for many people it just sort of appeared on the scene without much fanfare. I remember when I was in the computer business, some customers presented me with a computer for maintenance: "And it has Bluetooth!". -At the time, I simply had no idea what it was, and they had no idea what it was for, however, it had been a major selling-point for the computer!

Searching the Internet, it seems that the detail of pairing phones and cars is a troublesome area, particularly transferring your contact list. It's a case of Car problem or Phone problem? Who are you going to call for a solution? Bluetooth is not well documented at the user level.
