1. Is the base audio unit software somehow upgradable?

2. Does the base unit work with the Kia iPod cable so I can use the steering wheel controls? Sometimes when I use my apple oem cable it says accessory not supported and with the Kia cable it stays in Aux.

3. If I stream over Bluetooth is there a way to display name songs in the audio unit and use wheel controls as well?

Comment away. Thanks

1. It is able to be upgraded, but only done if Kia comes out with an update to correct faults in the software. Other than that I don't know how it could be done.

2. Most features should be available with the supplied Apple cable. The Kia cable is not needed for the Rio, as it uses the 3.0 software. This is for the base radio and the UVO.

3. I don't know.

Thanks for the info spongebob218. Do you know if there's a website with a list or something I can them compare to the one installed on my car to see if I have the most up to date?

There haven't been any updates yet for the base unit, so the version you have should be current.
