Backup Camera Issue

Yesterday I did a full update and that didn’t work. I also noticed that my cooling and heating buttons do not work as well. Front and backseats.

Hello, So I just came out of the dealer. They claimed it was a fuse that blew that controls the camera and the heating and cooling toggle switches. So to the guys that do work on their own cars, check your fuse block. Side note The dealer also told me that the fuse blew because I had aftermarket foot well light that I had connected via usb. “Now, I had these lights installed for almost a year and with no issues until now. Kind of found it odd that it happened much later in time.” Nonetheless , I would check fuses before anything else. I hope that helps

For me, it did not work at all. But... If I drove for about 5 minutes and I pressed the front camera button, the screen would turn black. I would say check your fuses , or go take it to the dealer

Man, I am sorry to hear that. Your problem sounds very unique. Look, I like KIa a lot; this is my 6th Kia. However, I have now had other issues as early as 1200 miles in with this vehicle. I put a lemon case on and recently won. Just the way Kia handled it ( Corporation ) was very lengthy and frustrating. The dealerships are just the intermediaries. There is no point fighting with them. So, I am finally parting ways with them; I don't plan on owning a KIA for a while.

With that said, you may have a case if you have all of your documentation in your possession ( service receipts ) and your car is new (I believe less than 2 years) if you are willing to go that route. Car's are meaningful to people, and I love my car, but the frustration was too much

I have documented my case and the dealership service department says that no matter how much video evidence I have, the Kia Tech Line won't open a case until the service department can get it to fail. It seems to always fail when it's somewhere around 40 degrees or higher in my garage. the weather around here has been pretty cold and if left outside when it's 35 degrees or colder, the camera works every time. I brought this to their attention and the service rep said sorry, they cannot leave the vehicle inside. They claim no room. Their advice, wait until the weather warms up. I've opened a case with Kia Customer Service, but they can't do anything. There seems to be no where to escalate this issue to. I really like the vehicle. I've had it a little over a year and have ~14k miles on it.

I suggest speaking with a lemon lawyer and seeing if anything can be done. Have all of your documentation organized. There is a possibility you may have a case. Hopefully, you can get yourself a new 2025 model. I'm officially out of my Kia vehicle and don't plan on having one anytime soon, strictly because of my experience handling KIA Corp. I also love everything Kia does, except how they handle their cases after they sell you the vehicle.
